Delivery ceremony of FPSO Cidade de Maricá was held at No.2 Berth of Chengxi Guangzhou in the morning of March 31, 2015. SBM Project Director Mr. John Perkins ,General Manager of SBM Guangzhou Branch Mr. Guillaume Chaussade, Vice President of CSSC Group Mr. Nan Daqing, Associate Counsel of Nansha Development District Management Conmitte Mr. Wang Zhirong, Secretary of Party Committee of Guangzhou Maritime Bureau Mr. Xiao Ming and COO of DM Company Mr. Lin Zhiyong have presented at the ceremony.General Manager of CXG, Mr. Zhang Qinghuan hosted the ceremony. CXG Chairman of Board Mr. Yin Xueming, SBM Project Director Mr. John Perkins and Vice President of CSSC Group had delivered speeches on the ceremony.
Mr. John Perkins read out the congratulation letter from SBM President Mr. Bruno Chabas. In the letter, Mr. Chabas congratulated the success delivery of FPSO Cidade de Maricá from Chengxi Guangzhou and extend his gratitude towards great support by CSSC Group and hard work of CXG and SBM’s project management team and all had contributed to the project. He also expect for a complete success of FPSO Cidade de Saquarema, the third FPSO Conversion project of SBM and CXG. Mr. John Perkins affirmed CXG’s achievement on the outstanding HSE achievement of 8,500,000 manhours without Lost Time Incident(LTI) contributed by CXG’s high standard and strict implementation of HSE requirements and the equally excellent performance in the construction activities at former stage and the additional scope at later stage. SBM is looking forward for the future cooperation with Chengxi Guangzhou and CSSC Group and longer term cooperation with joint effort from both sides.
Mr. Yin Xuemin, Chairman of Board of CXG, pointed out in his speech that the project entered CXG for repairing and conversion on May 12, 2013. In the following 689 days, CXG concentrated resources and tackled various difficulties for achieving the target of delivered the vessel with a safety record of 8,500,000 manhours without LTI. This project is meaningful for deepening the cooperation between CXG and SBM and brings CXG into a new era for its product structure adjustment strategy. During the project, all project team members and staffs had made great effort and day and night hard work. All of them deserve a thumb-up!
Mr. Nan Daqing, Vice President of CSSC Group, said in his speech, FPSO Cidade de Maricá is the second conversion project from VLCC to FPSO for Petrobras by CSSC and SBM. This project has the most complicated construction requirement, quantity and most advanced functions among its counterparts all over the world. With great support and cooperation of SBM headquarter and site team, Petrobras site representatives, ABS site surveyors, DM site team and equipment vendor service engineers, CXG and GSI worked hard together to achieve completion of FPSO Cidade de Maricá. The successful delivery of the vessel is a miracle of CXG’s development, a milestone and successful step for the journey to global offshore business market for CSSC Group.
